Description
The Ishpeming, Michigan Carnegie Public Library has a rich history of providing library services to the community dating back to the 1870s. The current building located in downtown Ishpeming was built in 1904 with funding from Andrew Carnegie.
Local author, John Voelker, was a life-long patron of the library and it was because of his book, "Anatomy of a Murder" that the Ishpeming Library was involved in the film adaptation of his book (1959), in which he was portrayed by Jimmy Stewart. Unfortunately, the film lost the Academy Award that year to Ben Hur.

A sincere thanks to the buyer from Farmington Hills MI for this purchase. This was one block from our home. Spent hours here, as a youngster, and I l always loved the building. It has a special meaning for me.

Thank you, Reid. Spent many hours in that building reading Arizona Highways which contributed to my interest in photography
