Description
One of the original bridges on the old Santa Fe Railroad is still in operation next to I-40, near the Old Route 66 near Winslow Arizona.
The tracks once carried many of the proud Santa Fe Chief trains that carried travelers from Chicago to Los Angeles.
The Atchison Topeka and the Santa Fe Railroad, generally shortened to Santa Fe RR, ceased operations in 1996, when it merged with the Burlington Northern to form the current Burlington Northern & Santa Fe, BNSF Railroad.
