Description
The Quadracci Pavilion is the latest addition to The Milwaukee Art Museum, on the shores of Lake Michigan. Designed by Spanish architect, Santiago Calatrava, it opened in 2001.
It has become an icon and architectural art piece of its own. The main exterior feature is The Burke Brise Soleil, a moveable sunscreen with a 217-foot wingspan that unfolds and folds twice daily.
One point of access is The Reiman Bridge, a pedestrian suspension bridge that connects the Museum to the city and nearby parking.
